I will investigate further though (will try to stand up and peddle) ![]() But I am PRETTY sure that's not where the noise was coming from. I'm curious to learn just how much you weigh and what bike you're riding that you find you need 20 PSI in a 3" tyre on an i40-50 rim? ut: Also curious what gauge you're using to tell you that you're in fact running 20 PSI, the one on a floor pump or a stand alone gauge?Click to expand.OK, well I did notice my saddle was a bit loose and was planning on tightening. I know for my 2.8" Rekons on i35 rims, that I would definitely like to try them on i40 because I feel them squirm at riding pressures compared to say the Nobby Nics I ran before with thicker casing. I don't really feel any squirm with this setup, just can feel a bit squishy/bouncy if I forget to check pressures and they get a 1/2=1 PSI low, but I do wonder how these tyres would feel on some i45 rims. ![]() It's a big-wheeled fun wagon ready to go anywhere and take on any trail. This mountain bike marries fun and confidence. I weigh anywhere from about 175-190lbs kitted to ride, depending on how long etc and how much water I take and I usually run 10 PSI in the DHF for slower more technical trails and bump it up to 11PSI for faster trails, run the rear down to 13 PSI for slower tech trails and up to 14-15 PSI depending on which tyre for faster stuff. Stache 7 is a playful 29+ trail hardtail with 3 mid-fat tires, a ridiculously capable build, and a robust fork with 120mm of travel. In my opinion, the 2019 Trek Stache 5 is a tough style. Although the manufacturers’ understanding, the 2019 Trek Stache 5 black is more subdued and more conservative. Compared to the 2016 Trek Stache 5 has more bright green. On my current setup, which is the same I built to test wide rims years ago, I run Dually45s with an inner width of 39mm and run a DHF 3.0" in the front and either a Chronicle or BFT 3.0" in the rear. In the color, I am more feel a little regret, not more bright colors. Tires are setup tubeless (Maxxis Minion DHR II F/R) and pressures I run are 14/16. Bike was in really good shape and everything is working well. OP, as has been said, it all comes down to personal preference, which also boils down to which tyres you're running. So I have 2019 stache 7 that I bought used about 3 months ago to get back into MTB after an 8 year hiatus (last MTB was Cannondale Jekyll).
